Putting ChatGPT inside Excel

Introduction

Have you heard of GPT Chat ? It’s an amazing tool that can now be integrated into Excel. In this article, I’ll show you how to do it step by step. Above all, I’m sure you’ll be amazed at what this AI feature  can do for you. So, let’s get started! 😊

Step 1: Opening Excel in the browser

The first step to using GPT Chat in Excel is to open the Chrome browser and type “sheet.new” in the address bar. Press the “Enter” key and you will be redirected to Excel online. 🌐

Step 2: Installing the extension

Now that you are in Excel online, click on the “Extensions” menu. Then, select the “Add-ons” option and search for the extension called Sheet Chat GPT in the search bar. Once you find the extension, click on the “Install” button. 🛠️

Step 3: Enabling the plugin

After installing the extension, go back to the “Extensions” menu and locate the “Sheet Chat GPT” plugin. Click the activation button to enable the plugin. ✔️

Step 4: Using GPT Chat

Now that everything is set up, we will demonstrate how to use GPT Chat with a simple student grade table. Locate the “FX” toolbar and follow the instructions below:

  1. In the formula bar, type chat GPT( followed by quotation marks.
  2. Here, you need to tell GPT Chat what you would say to a person if the grade was above 60. For example, “Pass” or “Fail”.
  3. Close the quotes and add the “&” symbol to concatenate strings.
  4. Select the cell where the grade value is and close the parentheses.
  5. Press the “Enter” key and GPT Chat will provide the answer, informing whether the student passed or failed. 🎓
